Terms of use

The short version: use the tools freely, keep what you make with them, and please don’t copy the site. Last updated 2 November 2026.

Using the tools

Every tool here is free for personal or commercial work, and you don’t need an account. Anything you make with them, like configs, scripts, specs, diagrams and plans, belongs to you. Use it, change it and share it however you like.

Please don’t copy the site

The tools themselves are a different matter. The code, data and writing behind them took a lot of hours to get right, and they belong to VirtualBytes. Please don’t copy, mirror, resell or republish them, take their code or data apart, or use them to build a competing tool, unless you’ve asked first and had a yes in writing. Linking to any page is always welcome.

The pages carry hidden markers, so copies can be traced back here.

Check before you deploy

The tools are tested carefully, but they come as they are, with no warranty. Always check what they produce against Broadcom’s documentation and your own environment before it goes anywhere near production. VirtualBytes isn’t liable for any loss or damage caused by using the tools or their output.

Not affiliated with Broadcom

VirtualBytes is an independent project. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Broadcom. VMware, VCF, vSphere, vSAN, NSX and other product names are trademarks of their owners.

Your privacy

The tools run in your browser, and nothing you type into them is sent anywhere. The FAQ explains what the web server keeps in its logs.
