Yes. Every tool here is free to use without limits, accounts, or trials. There are no usage caps and nothing is gated behind a paywall.
No. There's no signup, no login, no email collection. Open a tool and use it.
The tools themselves don't collect anything. All calculations happen in your browser. The web server logs basic anonymous request data (timestamp, page, referrer, country) for capacity planning and abuse prevention — same as any web server. No analytics scripts, no third-party trackers, no cookies for advertising.
If you want to verify: open DevTools → Network tab and watch what gets sent.
In your browser. Tools that remember your work (saved configs, theme preference, last-used settings) use the browser's local storage — that's on your device, not a server. Clear your browser storage and it's gone.
Nothing about your designs, IPs, hostnames, or topologies leaves your machine.
Once a tool has loaded in your browser, it'll keep working if your connection drops — the tools run client-side and don't need a live server to do their job.
Any modern Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc), Firefox, and Safari. Mobile browsers work but tools are optimized for desktop — most have detailed forms or canvas interactions that aren't great on phones.
IE11 and other legacy browsers are not supported.
No. VirtualBytes is an independent project. The tools are built by infrastructure practitioners for infrastructure practitioners, based on public documentation, KBs, and field experience. They're not endorsed by, partnered with, or supported by Broadcom or VMware.
For production sizing decisions, always cross-reference with official VMware/Broadcom documentation.
For personal or internal team use, link to the tools freely.
All tools here are free and ad-free, built in spare time between production VCF work. If they've saved you a few hours, a coffee keeps the next tool shipping.
